Where are you from?
I was born and raised in suburban Detroit.
How did you start running?
After joining the Army in 1986, I was “Forced” to run. Clocking multiple Army Physical Fitness Test 2-Mile runs under 11 minutes, I needed the challenge of racing. Thanks to my proclivity to run and the generosity of Uncle Sam, I was selected for the All-Army Marathon Team and represented Team USA at the World Military Marathon Championship, my marathon PR of 2:51 at age 42....
Favorite Local Race?
I live for the SAV Love Chocolate Half Marathon/10k each and every Saturday preceding Valentine’s Day. Dan Pavlin and his ERS Team know how to execute a world class, certified course race. The uplifting prayers, steadfast patriotism and positivity from the participants is a observation-feeling to behold.
What keeps you going or helped you get this done?
The 2019 ERS Champion, Michael Littlefield, Captain/CEO of Team Briggs makes it all happen. He schedules our races and holds us accountable to run well! Michael is my best friend and kicks my tail, at being a friend to all and speedster at all distances!! Lastly, my beautiful wife Sandy is 110 percent supportive of my racing endeavors. Without her unwavering love and encouragement, I would be an antique couch potato fella with an unsightly “Dad Bod”!
